History: |
|
This local men's chorus
was chartered with the Society in 1975 |
 |
Music Style: |
|
Barbershop four part
harmony is a style of unaccompanied singing with three voices harmonizing to
the melody. Barbershop quartets and choruses are dedicated to
preserving the music that is in the style of "the old songs". Tuning
is nearly perfect as is possible. The style is distinguished by
uniformity of word sounds and a special emphasis on close harmony. |
 |
Society Vision: |

The Society is to be an
ever-growing fraternity of barbershop-style singers, leading the cause of
encouraging vocal music in our schools and communities |
 |
Membership: |
|
Approximately 50 men in
our local chorus |
